Applied AI Engineer

About this role

Amigo is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to contribute to the development of AI solutions that enhance clinical workflows in healthcare. This role involves overseeing the deployment of AI agents from design through production, ensuring their reliability and integration within existing systems.

What you'll do

• Design and build AI agents for clinical workflows
• Determine agent capabilities and human handoff points
• Create evaluations to ensure agent safety and reliability
• Develop integrations for customer systems
• Debug and optimize live agent conversations
• Identify reusable patterns across client solutions

What they're looking for

• Experience in software development
• Familiarity with AI agents and LLMs
• Strong problem-solving and ownership attitude
• Good judgment on technical tradeoffs
• Low ego and high self-expectations
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco
• Experience in regulated domains (preferred)
• Python expertise and reliable system building
