About this role

Anduril Industries seeks mechanical engineering interns for a 12-week paid summer 2027 internship at multiple U.S. locations. Interns will design and build prototypes, conduct failure analysis, execute hardware testing, and support the transition of projects to production for an advanced defense technology company.

What you'll do

  • Design and build prototypes while analyzing failures and production transitions
  • Conduct design reviews and present technical analyses to team members
  • Execute hardware test plans and visit vendor facilities as needed
  • Apply first principles physics to engineering decisions
  • Travel to test sites and vendor locations as required

What they're looking for

  • CAD proficiency (any platform)
  • Engineering drawing creation to industry standards
  • Hands-on fabrication and machining skills
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • FEA and/or CFD analysis tools
  • Electrical component integration (motors, sensors, controllers)
  • NX/Teamcenter or Solidworks experience
  • 3D printing, sheet metal, or injection molding knowledge
