Costa Mesa, California, United StatesFrom $220kmidAdded 2 days ago

About this role

Anduril's Air Dominance & Strike Division seeks an experienced MDAO engineer to lead the design optimization of next-generation combat aircraft and autonomous systems. You'll integrate multidisciplinary models across the entire development lifecycle, establish advanced workflows using commercial frameworks, and apply AI-driven methods to accelerate critical design decisions.

What you'll do

  • Lead MDAO trade studies and build data-driven workflows collaborating with air-vehicle design teams across programs
  • Design parameterized CAD-based geometry models using scripting tools to enable multidisciplinary analysis
  • Deploy multi-fidelity workflows, Design of Experiments, optimizations, and Uncertainty Quantification analyses
  • Integrate disciplinary models (controls, guidance, 6DOF simulations, subsystems) earlier into design iterations
  • Develop and pioneer advanced MDAO methodologies including AI solutions to enhance engineering efficiency
  • Mentor discipline experts on efficient modeling practices and guide workflow optimization

What they're looking for

  • Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) frameworks and tools
  • CAD scripting and parametric geometry generation (e.g., Engineering Sketch Pad)
  • Computational engineering analysis for steady-state and transient phenomena
  • Design of Experiments, sensitivity analysis, and Uncertainty Quantification
  • AI/Machine Learning application to engineering workflows
  • 6DOF simulation and aircraft performance modeling
  • Workflow automation and systems integration
  • Technical leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration
