Battery Engineer

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Battery Engineer to lead energy storage system development for defense applications, from concept through production. This role combines hands-on technical work with systems engineering responsibility to deliver cutting-edge battery solutions on accelerated timelines.

What you'll do

• Drive end-to-end energy storage system development with aggressive project schedules
• Define ESS requirements and select/validate battery cells for specific applications
• Conduct hands-on assembly, testing, and integration of battery management systems
• Execute cell, module, and pack-level validation and vehicle integration testing
• Develop production ramp plans and support transition from development to manufacturing
• Perform root cause analysis on fielded systems and implement design improvements

• Battery management system (BMS) design and integration
• Battery test equipment operation (cyclers, thermal chambers, health testers)
• Battery characterization and modeling techniques
• Battery safety standards (UN38.3, NAVSEA S9310, UL, IEC)
• Systems engineering and requirements definition
• Energy storage system troubleshooting and debugging
• Military standards knowledge (MIL-STD preferred)
• Electrical or mechanical engineering fundamentals
