Chief Engineer

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and their subsystems. This role involves overseeing system architecture, conceptual design, integration efforts, and vehicle testing while coordinating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Define system architecture for UAV upgrades and new small drone platforms
• Lead conceptual design efforts including sizing, performance analysis, and initial prototyping
• Manage tactical engineering efforts and interface between engineering disciplines throughout the design and integration lifecycle
• Develop test plans for critical subsystems and support vehicle-level acceptance testing
• Conduct hands-on UAV testing and troubleshooting, with occasional travel required
• Analyze vehicle data to identify performance trends and develop predictive failure models
