About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Composites Development Tooling Engineer to design and develop manufacturing tools and ground support equipment for defense technology prototypes. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into production-ready tooling while managing vendor relationships and documentation in a fast-paced hardware development environment.
What you'll do
- Gather and incorporate requirements from internal teams and customers into tool designs
- Design reliable tooling solutions under compressed timelines for prototype development
- Coordinate with external manufacturing partners for tool procurement and fabrication
- Verify tooling meets specifications and oversee successful commissioning
- Document processes and lessons learned to support high-volume production campaigns
- Travel to product sites as needed to support designs and troubleshooting
What they're looking for
- 3D CAD design and modeling (Siemens NX preferred)
- Mechanical and composite part/tool design
- Manufacturing processes (machining, welding, molding, composites fabrication)
- GD&T and technical drawing creation per ASME Y14.5
- PLM systems experience (Teamcenter preferred)
- Stack-up and tolerance analysis
- Composite layup design (Fibersim experience preferred)
- Ground support equipment design
