Flight Test Engineer

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Flight Test Engineer to evaluate software and hardware capabilities for the Altius autonomous UAS platform. You'll plan and execute comprehensive testing, manage fleet assets, collaborate with engineering teams, and ensure system performance meets operational standards for ISR missions.

What you'll do

• Plan, execute, and report on flight test events with focus on software/hardware integration and operational suitability
• Manage test asset configuration including hardware components, payloads, software/firmware, and fleet maintenance tracking
• Generate evaluation test plans and reports addressing functionality, safety risks, hazards, and logistical requirements
• Operate Altius platform, conduct pre/post flight briefings, and manage test events with pilots and engineering teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional SMEs on test findings, issue characterization, and problem adjudication
• Collect and analyze flight test metrics including sortie information and scheduling data

• UAS operations and regulations (FAA Part 107 and Part 61)
• Linux systems, networking, and command-line proficiency

• Problem-solving and methodical analysis
• Group 2/3 fixed-wing aircraft systems (preferred)
