About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop core mechanical subsystems for tactical drone products, including gimbals, structures, and payloads. You'll own designs from concept through production, collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced defense technology environment.
What you'll do
- Own mechanical subsystems for drone products from concept to full production
- Perform design analysis using hand calculations and FEA to develop and optimize solutions
- Lead design reviews and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams
- Build prototypes, execute hardware tests, and iterate on designs based on results
- Investigate root causes of hardware failures and support customer demonstrations
- Balance operational requirements while optimizing for speed, mass, cost, and manufacturability
What they're looking for
- CAD proficiency (any platform) with industry-standard drawing skills
- Hands-on prototyping (machining, welding, soldering, shop tools)
- Engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms
- FEA and analytical design methods
- Technical leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Project management and technical documentation
- Solidworks or NX (preferred)
- PLM systems experience (preferred)
