About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop core mechanical subsystems for tactical drone products, including gimbals, structures, and payloads. You'll own designs from concept through production, collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced defense technology environment.

What you'll do

  • Own mechanical subsystems for drone products from concept to full production
  • Perform design analysis using hand calculations and FEA to develop and optimize solutions
  • Lead design reviews and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Build prototypes, execute hardware tests, and iterate on designs based on results
  • Investigate root causes of hardware failures and support customer demonstrations
  • Balance operational requirements while optimizing for speed, mass, cost, and manufacturability

What they're looking for

  • CAD proficiency (any platform) with industry-standard drawing skills
  • Hands-on prototyping (machining, welding, soldering, shop tools)
  • Engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms
  • FEA and analytical design methods
  • Technical leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Project management and technical documentation
  • Solidworks or NX (preferred)
  • PLM systems experience (preferred)
