Mechanical Engineer, Maneuver Dominance

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead rotorcraft and complex systems development, from concept through low-rate production. You'll own mechanical platform design while collaborating across disciplines to deliver reliable, cost-effective defense technology.

What you'll do

• Own mechanical systems and platform development from concept to production
• Define requirements, propose solutions, and establish evaluation methodologies for mechanical systems
• Lead design reviews, conduct analysis, and oversee vendor partnerships and hardware testing
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to integrate subsystems
• Balance optimization across vehicle subsystems for speed, mass, manufacturability, and cost
• Support customer hardware demonstrations and travel to test sites

What they're looking for

• CAD (NX preferred) with advanced engineering drawing capability
• Engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms
• MATLAB/SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE proficiency
• Manufacturing and machine shop experience
• Hands-on prototyping and rapid prototyping techniques
• 3D printing and fabrication skills (machining, welding, soldering)
• GD&T application and electro-mechanical integration
• Flight hardware qualification and MIL-STD familiarity
