Mechanical Engineer, Omen

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop Omen, an innovative autonomous tail-sitter aircraft combining eVTOL capabilities with runway independence. You'll own mechanical systems from concept through production, collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced environment where designs fly within months.

What you'll do

• Own mechanical systems and platform development from concept to low-rate production
• Define requirements, propose solutions, and establish verification methodologies for mechanical systems
• Lead design reviews, conduct analysis, and implement hardware test plans
• Partner with electrical and software teams to ensure integrated system reliability and cost-effectiveness
• Manage vendor relationships, prototyping, and field testing at remote sites
• Contribute to team processes, tools, and standards while supporting customer demonstrations

What they're looking for

• CAD proficiency (NX preferred)
• Structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms engineering
• MATLAB/SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE
• Manufacturing and machine shop knowledge (sheet metal, CNC)
• Rapid prototyping and 3D printing
• Hands-on fabrication (machining, welding, soldering)
• GD&T and technical drawings
• Electronic component integration
