About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechatronics Engineer to develop complex electro-mechanical systems for defense technology platforms. You'll own hardware projects end-to-end—from concept evaluation and design through prototyping, testing, and production, with significant autonomy and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical systems including optical systems, batteries, mechanisms, and sensors
  • Evaluate engineering concepts rapidly and perform physics-based trade studies on technical problems
  • Manage vendor relationships and conduct market research to identify industry partners
  • Lead design reviews, develop test plans, and support customer hardware demonstrations
  • Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful designs into production
  • Travel to test sites as needed to support critical demonstrations

What they're looking for

  • Bare-metal microcontroller design (STMicro, TI, NXP) from schematic to bringup
  • Embedded systems and firmware development
  • Motor/servo drive systems and controls (BLDC/brushed motor controller design)
  • Electrical schematic design and PCB layout interpretation
  • ECAD tools (Altium, KiCad) and MCAD tools (Solidworks, NX)
  • Hands-on prototyping (soldering, board assembly, harnessing)
  • Microcontroller communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, UART)
  • Engineering first principles and physics-based analysis

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $142,000–$213,000 USD
