About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Mechatronics Engineer to design and develop PCBAs for the Dive XL unmanned underwater vehicle, bridging software, electrical, and mechanical systems in a pressurized subsea environment. You'll own electronics from concept through production, troubleshoot integrated vehicle configurations, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver mission-critical subsystems.

What you'll do

  • Design PCBAs end-to-end including schematic, layout, fabrication, assembly, and bringup for subsea applications
  • Troubleshoot electronics at the bench and in integrated vehicle setups, isolating failures across electrical, firmware, and mechanical boundaries
  • Serve as technical liaison between software, electrical, and mechanical teams to translate subsystem requirements into electronics specifications
  • Design electro-mechanical subsystems including motor drives, sensors, actuators, and power distribution for subsea operation
  • Conduct trade studies and physics-based analysis for board architecture, component selection, and thermal/power budgets
  • Support vehicle integration, at-sea testing, design reviews, and transition designs from prototype to production

What they're looking for

  • PCBA design and schematic capture (Altium, KiCad)
  • Microcontroller programming (STMicro, TI, NXP)
  • Electronics debugging (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
  • Power conversion and system integration
  • Motor/servo drive design
  • Hands-on prototyping and board assembly
  • Cross-disciplinary technical leadership
  • Embedded systems and wired communication protocols
