Metrology Engineer

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Metrology Engineer to develop and execute precision inspection routines for advanced maritime defense manufacturing in Santa Ana, CA. You'll combine hands-on CMM programming with data analysis to drive manufacturing improvements across R&D, prototyping, and full-rate production in an AS9100-certified environment.

What you'll do

• Program and execute inspection routines using CMMs, portable arms, and laser trackers with software like PC-DMIS, Polyworks, and Spatial Analyzer
• Analyze dimensional data for root cause analysis, statistical process control, and capability studies
• Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing teams on Design for Manufacturability/Inspectability feedback
• Create comprehensive inspection plans based on GD&T requirements and 3D CAD models
• Generate inspection reports and present findings to cross-functional teams for corrective actions
• Support development of metrology SOPs and equipment calibration within quality management systems
