About this role
Anduril is seeking a Senior Battery Engineer to lead the development of energy storage systems for next-generation military drones and loitering munitions. You'll own battery pack design from concept through production on accelerated timelines, acting as the primary technical liaison between the core battery team and product organizations while solving complex challenges in defense applications.
What you'll do
- Drive end-to-end battery pack development from concept to full-rate production, owning performance targets, costs, and reliability
- Serve as primary interface between Core Battery Group and internal product teams, collaborating on requirements and design decisions
- Lead battery cell selection, characterization, and validation using de-risking processes
- Partner with mechanical engineers on design iterations across component testing, prototype packs, and production units
- Support manufacturing ramp-up and scale, ensuring validation and reliability through design reviews and failure mode analysis
- Conduct hands-on testing, debugging, and root cause analysis on fielded systems to drive design improvements
