About this role

Anduril's Maritime Division seeks a Robotics Software Engineer to develop perception and planning systems for autonomous underwater and surface vessels. You'll own end-to-end projects spanning sensor integration, computer vision, motion planning, and system validation while collaborating across engineering disciplines.

What you'll do

  • Implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems for autonomous maritime platforms
  • Design and develop scalable subsystems including sensor processing, perception, tracking, and motion planning
  • Conduct testing and validation of perception and planning algorithms using simulation and real-world data analysis
  • Contribute to reusable software components across multiple Anduril product lines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective system integration and testing
  • Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and partner teams

  • C++ and/or Python software development
  • Computer vision or sensor fusion
  • SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning
  • Autonomous vehicle sensors (radar, sonar, LIDAR, cameras)
  • Simulation tools (Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine)
  • System ownership and technical leadership
  • Test and validation strategy development
  • Mentoring and team collaboration
