About this role
Anduril's Maritime Division seeks a Robotics Software Engineer to develop perception and planning systems for autonomous underwater and surface vessels. You'll own end-to-end projects spanning sensor integration, computer vision, motion planning, and system validation while collaborating across engineering disciplines.
What you'll do
- Implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems for autonomous maritime platforms
- Design and develop scalable subsystems including sensor processing, perception, tracking, and motion planning
- Conduct testing and validation of perception and planning algorithms using simulation and real-world data analysis
- Contribute to reusable software components across multiple Anduril product lines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective system integration and testing
- Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and partner teams
What they're looking for
- C++ and/or Python software development
- Computer vision or sensor fusion
- SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning
- Autonomous vehicle sensors (radar, sonar, LIDAR, cameras)
- Simulation tools (Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine)
- System ownership and technical leadership
- Test and validation strategy development
- Mentoring and team collaboration
