Robotics Software Engineer, Maritime

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Robotics Software Engineer to develop perception and planning systems for autonomous maritime vehicles. You'll own end-to-end technical delivery of navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness capabilities across next-generation defense platforms.

What you'll do

• Design and implement safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems
• Develop scalable subsystems for sensor processing, perception, tracking, motion planning, and health management
• Apply computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning to enhance vehicle perception and planning
• Conduct testing and validation of algorithms through simulation and real-world field experiments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and testing
• Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and other teams

What they're looking for

• C++ and/or Python software development
• Computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, or motion planning
• Autonomous vehicle sensors (radar, sonar, LIDAR, cameras)
• Machine learning techniques
• Simulation tools (Gazebo, Unity, Unreal Engine)
• Systems engineering and technical ownership
• Validation and verification strategy development
• Team mentorship and collaboration
