Fort Collins, Colorado, United StatesFrom $218kfull-timemidAdded today

About this role

Anduril is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in robotics tracking and sensor fusion to develop advanced algorithms for target tracking, state estimation, and multi-sensor data fusion in defense applications. You'll lead a small team, prototype cutting-edge solutions, and deliver real-time systems that transform raw sensor data into actionable intelligence for mission-critical use cases.

What you'll do

  • Lead and influence direction of a small engineering team with expertise in target tracking and state estimation
  • Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor fusion, and state estimation in agile environments
  • Develop high-performance real-time software for tactical systems, simulations, and decision support tools
  • Design robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic systems to extract insights from noisy or incomplete sensor data
  • Validate technology benefits through high-fidelity simulations and rigorous statistical analysis
  • Customize algorithms for mission-critical use cases and integrate tracking solutions into the broader software lifecycle

What they're looking for

  • Target tracking algorithms (Kalman filters, particle filters, JPDA, MHT, PHD filters)
  • C/C++, Python, and MATLAB programming
  • Bayesian filtering and recursive state estimation techniques
  • Sensor fusion from diverse sources (radar, lidar, EO/IR)
  • Applied mathematics (linear algebra, optimization, probability, stochastic processes)
  • Signal processing and machine learning for tracking and classification
  • Big data pipelines and NoSQL databases
  • Adaptive filtering, estimation theory, and control systems

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through a complex tracking problem you've solved and the specific filter or algorithm you chose—why was it the right approach?
  • How have you handled sensor fusion when different sensors had conflicting or contradictory data, and how did you validate your solution?
