Seattle, Washington, United StatesFrom $220kmidAdded 2 days ago
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Software Engineer to own simulation fidelity for autonomous military systems, identifying where simulated behavior diverges from real-world performance and engineering solutions that improve model accuracy across the simulation framework. You'll partner with functional teams to integrate higher-fidelity subsystem models, build validation tooling, and run Monte Carlo campaigns to ensure simulations are trustworthy before autonomous systems deploy operationally.
What you'll do
- Analyze simulated subsystems to identify discrepancies from real-world behavior and quantify their impact on simulation trustworthiness
- Collaborate with functional engineering teams to integrate higher-fidelity models and validate them through statistical analysis
- Engineer framework solutions addressing performance constraints, timing coordination, and numerical integration for complex multi-physics systems
- Build and maintain validation tooling, benchmarks, and automated comparison systems against real-world data
- Design and execute Monte Carlo validation campaigns across parameter sweeps and edge cases
- Mentor engineers and drive cross-cutting fidelity strategy at senior level
What they're looking for
- C++ or Rust systems programming
- Python or MATLAB for analysis and scripting
- Performance analysis and optimization
- Multi-physics simulation and numerical methods
- Statistical analysis and validation methodologies
- Software-in-the-loop (SITL) and real-time simulation environments
- Domain knowledge in sensors, flight dynamics, navigation, or autonomy
- Monte Carlo simulation design
