About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer to support space hardware development from concept through launch, performing stress analysis, computational modeling, and testing validation for AI-powered defense systems. The role combines first-principles engineering with advanced simulation techniques to optimize spacecraft structures while meeting tight design schedules and military standards.

What you'll do

  • Conduct stress analysis and determine strength, safety margins, and fatigue life for space hardware using analytical and computational methods
  • Develop and correlate FEA models to predict dynamic environments, stress distribution, deformation, and failure modes
  • Quantify load cases and environments; execute hand calculations and MATLAB/Python models before detailed analysis
  • Support structural testing including sensor selection, data acquisition, and model validation for static, dynamic, and shock testing
  • Lead design trade studies and mass optimization efforts; collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on design decisions
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal teams, management, and external customers

What they're looking for

  • Structural analysis and FEA (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN preferred)
  • MATLAB or Python for modeling and data automation
  • CAD tools (NX, Solidworks, or equivalent)
  • Statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and materials properties
  • Structural testing methodology and data post-processing
  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • First-principles engineering approach and problem-solving
  • U.S. security clearance eligibility
