About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer to support space hardware development from concept through launch, performing stress analysis, computational modeling, and testing validation for AI-powered defense systems. The role combines first-principles engineering with advanced simulation techniques to optimize spacecraft structures while meeting tight design schedules and military standards.
What you'll do
- Conduct stress analysis and determine strength, safety margins, and fatigue life for space hardware using analytical and computational methods
- Develop and correlate FEA models to predict dynamic environments, stress distribution, deformation, and failure modes
- Quantify load cases and environments; execute hand calculations and MATLAB/Python models before detailed analysis
- Support structural testing including sensor selection, data acquisition, and model validation for static, dynamic, and shock testing
- Lead design trade studies and mass optimization efforts; collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on design decisions
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal teams, management, and external customers
