About this role
Anduril seeks a Tactical Network & Mission Systems Engineer to design and build the unified network architecture connecting autonomous maritime platforms across undersea, surface, and aerial domains. This hands-on role involves implementing software-defined networking solutions that integrate acoustic modems, tactical RF, satellite backhaul, and classified multinational cloud infrastructure for coordinated warfighting at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and implement network infrastructure, SDN control planes, and transport solutions for maritime autonomous systems
- Build cross-domain connectivity spanning acoustic modems, tactical RF, satellite backhaul, and classified networks
- Work cross-functionally with platform teams to write code, establish common interfaces, and solve integration challenges
- Develop networking solutions for contested/degraded environments including mesh networks and graceful degradation under link loss
- Support operational exercises and at-sea demonstrations to validate integrated network capability
- Architect and document patterns that enable other engineers to contribute to the networking layer at scale
What they're looking for
- Network engineering and software-defined networking (SDN)
- Distributed communications systems and tactical network design
- Full network stack knowledge (physical layer, transport protocols, orchestration)
- Autonomous systems and unmanned platform networking
- Military/defense networking standards (HAIPE, Type 1 crypto, cross-domain solutions)
- Hands-on coding, infrastructure configuration, and production debugging
- Cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving
- Experience with unreliable/contested connectivity environments
