IT Systems Engineer, Client Platform Engineer

About this role

Anthropic seeks an IT Systems Engineer to own the endpoint management platform serving thousands of devices across macOS, Windows, and mobile. You'll architect and operate their custom MDM service, manage fleet-wide patching and provisioning, and build automation that balances security controls with developer experience.

What you'll do

• Author and roll out MDM policies, configuration profiles, and remediation scripts with canary deployments and rollback capabilities
• Operate the MDM infrastructure as a production service, including observability, upgrades, and incident response
• Build patch management automation with rapid enforcement while maintaining user experience
• Design and implement zero-touch device provisioning and software distribution
• Convert fleet telemetry into actionable policies, dashboards, and automated remediation using Claude
• Partner with Security on endpoint hardening, compliance controls, and serve as escalation tier for complex issues

What they're looking for

• 8+ years building secure IT systems in complex environments
• Hands-on experience managing thousands of macOS and Windows devices via modern MDM
• Configuration-as-code and GitOps practices
• Deep knowledge of macOS internals (launchD, configuration profiles, TCC) or Windows internals (CSPs, registry, PowerShell, BitLocker)
• Python, shell scripting, and PowerShell
• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD for configuration management
• Swift or Go for endpoint tool development (preferred)
• Experience with LLMs for operational automation (preferred)
