Security Engineer, Detection & Response

About this role

Anthropic is hiring a Security Engineer to build detection and response capabilities that safeguard their AI systems. You'll lead incident investigations across their infrastructure, develop innovative security tooling, and work closely with research and engineering teams to protect against external attacks and insider threats.

What you'll do

• Lead cybersecurity incident response efforts covering external attacks, insider threats, and all technology layers
• Develop and deploy detection tools that may leverage Large Language Models for investigation and response
• Create detections, playbooks, and workflows to identify and respond to incidents quickly
• Review metrics and procedures to drive continuous improvement in incident response
• Collaborate cross-functionally with security and engineering teams
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response

What they're looking for

• Incident response and threat hunting (5+ years preferred)
• Software engineering experience (3+ years preferred)
• Cloud environment operations and security
• EDR, SIEM, SOAR, or similar security tools
• Python and SQL proficiency
• Kubernetes and large-scale infrastructure security
• Threat intelligence and malware analysis
• Attack analysis and forensics
