Antioch

Simulation Engineer

New York City$180k–$230kfulltimemidAdded 2 days ago

About this role

Antioch is seeking a Simulation Engineer to build high-fidelity digital twins of robotic and autonomous systems on its cloud simulation platform. You'll work directly with customers to translate real-world hardware into validated simulations, focusing on physics, sensors, and tooling while developing the platform's agentic capabilities.

What you'll do

  • Ingest customer physical systems (robots, sensors, actuators) into Antioch and convert incomplete specifications into working simulation models
  • Design and implement simulation capabilities across dynamics, contacts, actuators, environments, and sensor systems
  • Build and calibrate high-fidelity sensor models (cameras, lidar, radar, infrared, UV) with realistic noise and failure modes
  • Optimize model performance and scalability by profiling bottlenecks and improving reproducibility
  • Develop Python tooling for calibration, testing, and automated customer onboarding workflows
  • Build simulation bindings for the agentic framework to enable automated digital twin and scenario generation

What they're looking for

  • Robotics and hardware simulation platforms (Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Gazebo, PyBullet)
  • Sensor modeling and calibration across multiple modalities
  • Physics-based simulation and sim-to-real fidelity assessment
  • Python for data analysis, automation, and tooling
  • System identification and working with incomplete information
  • Computer vision and sensor signal processing
  • Rust or C++ (nice-to-have)
  • Measurement and calibration software development

Benefits

  • High-ownership role in an early-stage, founder-led company
  • Work on systems with real-world impact for autonomous robotics
  • Opportunity to shape platform architecture and capabilities
  • Collaboration with technical founders and specialized engineers
  • NYC-based with relocation support available
