Project Engineer

About this role

Apex Companies seeks a Project Engineer to support civil engineering design projects, including site layout, stormwater management, and utility planning. You'll assist with project coordination, permitting, and client communications while contributing to a fast-growing AEC firm that values professional development and meaningful work.

What you'll do

• Perform civil engineering design work including site layout, grading, stormwater management, and erosion control
• Prepare and review design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Assist Project Manager with scheduling, budgeting, and task coordination
• Track project progress and ensure quality standards and deadlines are met
• Support permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies
• Participate in client and contractor meetings and maintain project documentation

What they're looking for

• Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (BS degree required)
• Civil 3D and HydroCAD software proficiency
• MS Office suite
• Technical writing and communication
• Project management and scheduling
• Attention to detail
• Safety compliance knowledge
• EIT certification (PE preferred)
