Software Engineer for Fraud Prevention (TypeScript)

About this role

Apify seeks an experienced fraud prevention engineer to design and operate systems that detect and mitigate abuse across their web data platform while maintaining seamless experiences for legitimate users. You'll build risk models, investigate attack patterns, and collaborate with product and security teams to balance safety with platform performance.

What you'll do

• Design and build fraud prevention systems balancing customer experience, losses, and costs
• Develop risk models, detection rules, and signals for real-time abuse prevention
• Investigate emerging attack patterns and deploy mitigations quickly
• Create internal tools and processes to support incident response and investigations
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Security, and Finance on safety-experience tradeoffs
• Document playbooks and incident learnings to build team knowledge
