Data Platform Engineer

About this role

Apptronik seeks a Data Platform Engineer to design and operate backend systems that handle robotic telemetry, sensor, and training data at scale. You'll build reliable data pipelines and APIs supporting machine learning, fleet analytics, and operational intelligence for their humanoid robot Apollo, working across cloud and hybrid environments.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain backend data services for ingesting, processing, and serving telemetry and sensor data from development and deployed robot fleets
• Build batch and streaming data workflows integrating on-robot sources, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems
• Develop internal APIs and platform tools enabling ML engineers and robotics teams secure, efficient data access
• Establish data quality, lineage, and governance practices for model training and operational decision-making
• Monitor and optimize database performance, storage systems, and resource utilization for scalability and reliability
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, SRE, and security teams on production-ready infrastructure
