About this role
Apptronik seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical authority for supplier electromechanical manufacturing processes, quality systems, and production readiness. You will spend significant time on supplier factory floors evaluating processes, resolving production issues, and qualifying parts from prototype through rate production for humanoid robotics applications.
What you'll do
- Serve as subject matter expert on manufacturing processes for wire harnesses, PCBAs, motor assemblies, actuators, and electromechanical components
- Conduct on-site supplier assessments to evaluate equipment, tooling, fixtures, and process controls; drive corrective actions
- Own end-to-end new product introduction at suppliers including feasibility review, PPAP/FAI approval, and ramp to rate production
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for supplier quality escapes using 8D, 5-Why, and other methodologies
- Analyze supplier metrics (PPM, OTD, first-pass yield) to identify systemic issues and develop improvement plans
- Collaborate with procurement, design, and production teams to inform sourcing decisions with verified manufacturing capabilities

- Quality management standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, NADCAP)

- Wire harness, PCBA, and motor assembly manufacturing knowledge
- Design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback and process optimization
- Supplier quality and delivery metrics analysis
