About this role
Apptronik seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop and validate thermal solutions for their humanoid robot Apollo through CFD simulations and testing. You'll model thermal behavior in actuators, electronics, and battery systems while collaborating with design teams to optimize robotic hardware performance.
What you'll do
- Develop CFD and thermal models for robotic actuators, electronics, and battery systems
- Execute simulations using established tools and document methodologies
- Analyze simulation and experimental data to identify performance gaps
- Support thermal testing activities including setup, instrumentation, and data collection
- Collaborate with design engineers to integrate thermal considerations into product designs
- Validate models through correlation with experimental test results
What they're looking for
- CFD simulation tools (Simcenter, Ansys Icepak, Fluent, or equivalent)
- Heat transfer principles (conduction, convection, radiation)
- Thermal modeling and analysis
- Data analysis and interpretation
- Technical documentation and communication
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
