About this role

Join an early-stage startup building infrastructure that enables AI agents to take real-world actions by connecting language models to tools and integrations. As a Distributed Systems Engineer, you'll architect the runtime and registry powering the next generation of AI applications, working across backend services, SDKs, and production integrations.

What you'll do

  • Design and build high-performance, secure backend infrastructure for AI tool management and execution
  • Develop SDKs and frameworks enabling developers to create custom AI tools
  • Create production-grade integrations with major platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, OpenAI, Anthropic)
  • Help establish industry standards for AI tool calling and authorization protocols
  • Shape team roadmap and mentor other engineers on distributed systems best practices
  • Build and ship features with focus on developer experience and usability

What they're looking for

  • Backend development (Python, Go, Typescript, or similar) with 5+ years experience
  • Infrastructure and deployment (AWS/GCP, Terraform, Helm) with 2+ years experience
  • Production API design, development, and maintenance
  • Clean code practices with strong testing and documentation
  • Developer tool and SDK design
  • LLM and AI framework knowledge (LangChain, LlamaIndex)
  • Distributed systems architecture
  • Open-source development experience
