Forward Deployed Engineer

Join a well-backed startup building infrastructure that enables AI agents to take real-world actions beyond chat interfaces. As a Forward Deployed Engineer in San Francisco, you'll be the technical authority for enterprise customers, designing custom AI architectures and prototypes while influencing the product roadmap.

What you'll do

• Lead technical discovery and evaluations with enterprise customer stakeholders (CTOs, architects, heads of AI)
• Design and build custom prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and reference architectures demonstrating AI action capabilities
• Navigate complex technical challenges in large deal cycles ($200K+ to seven figures)
• Provide market feedback to shape product roadmap, including prototyping new features when needed
• Master and advise customers on the evolving AI/agentic ecosystem (LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases)
• Translate complex infrastructure concepts into clear, business-value-driven solutions

What they're looking for

• 3+ years pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting experience with infrastructure products
• Deep knowledge of integration platforms (iPaaS, ETL/ELT, RPA, API gateways, service mesh)
• Hands-on coding ability (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, SDKs)
• Enterprise systems architecture and design patterns
• LLM orchestration and autonomous agent frameworks
• Security and governance requirements for Fortune 500 environments
• Business acumen and customer stakeholder management
• Curiosity and rapid learning in emerging AI technologies
