Aircraft Architecture & Integration Engineer
About this role
Archer seeks an Aircraft Architecture & Integration Engineer to lead the design and integration of subsystems within their all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. You'll manage digital mock-ups, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure optimal system layout while collaborating closely with manufacturing to bring innovative aircraft to production.
What you'll do
- Lead development and optimization of complete aircraft structure layouts and subsystem integration across large aircraft zones
- Own zonal management of digital mock-ups, controlling space allocation, mounting strategies, routing envelopes, and maintainability
- Manage interface requirements models (IRMs), master geometry models, and aircraft systems configuration with hardware traceability
- Conduct trade studies to optimize system integration, mass efficiency, and flight performance across disciplines
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to define assembly processes and ensure seamless aircraft integration
- Support test planning, validation activities, and implement design improvements based on test data analysis

- Systems integration and interface management across full-vehicle level
- GD&T, tolerance analysis, and 2D drawing generation
- Mass budgeting and configuration management
- Aerospace manufacturing processes (machining, joining, composites)
- Bills of Materials (BOM) generation and change control
- Cross-functional technical coordination and communication
- Tolerance analysis and regulatory design practices
