About this role
Archer is seeking a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer to design and manage data acquisition systems for their all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft development program. You'll oversee instrumentation planning, installation, and maintenance while collaborating with engineering and flight test teams to support developmental testing and certification.
What you'll do
- Design, install, and maintain data acquisition systems for flight test aircraft
- Develop instrumentation plans covering strain, temperature, vibration, pressure, and airdata monitoring
- Perform post-flight data processing and ensure field data quality
- Design instrumentation wiring, hardware integration, and test support equipment like data racks and telemetry systems
- Create procedures and documentation for instrumentation installation, maintenance, and checkout
- Manage instrumentation activities to meet schedule and budget requirements
