About this role
Archer Aviation seeks a Mass Properties Engineer to lead weight and balance programs for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. You'll manage critical mass data from design through certification, partner with cross-functional teams on optimization, and conduct hands-on aircraft inspections to ensure flight safety and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do
- Lead day-to-day mass properties programs across multiple eVTOL aircraft platforms
- Build and maintain master database tracking weight, center of gravity, and inertia data
- Conduct aircraft inspections and lead weighing operations on the factory floor
- Partner with design and structures teams to validate mass assumptions and drive optimization
- Prepare documentation and analysis supporting FAA certification activities
- Implement tools and workflows to improve mass properties data collection and communication
