Applied AI Engineer

About this role

Arlo is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to develop end-to-end AI-powered healthcare experiences for their insurance platform. You'll architect and deploy LLM-driven features that serve tens of thousands of members, working across the full stack from backend infrastructure to production applications.

What you'll do

• Design and launch AI-native product features serving large member populations
• Build and deploy LLM-powered agents for complex healthcare workflows
• Advance core AI capabilities in prompt orchestration, retrieval systems, and evaluations
• Own end-to-end development from concept through production
• Implement safeguards, red-teaming, and evaluation frameworks for LLM reliability
• Collaborate on initial projects like symptom triage, conversational care partners, and proactive health outreach

What they're looking for

• Full-stack AI product development (backend and frontend)
• Python and database systems (Postgres)
• Large Language Models and prompt engineering
• Production LLM application deployment
• LLM safety, reliability, and evaluation frameworks
• AI-assisted engineering tools (Cursor, Copilot)
• TypeScript and React (nice to have)
• Cloud platform deployment (AWS, etc.)
