Software Engineer (Java Backend)

About this role

ARQ, a rapidly growing fintech, seeks a Java Backend Engineer to design and maintain scalable systems powering cross-border financial infrastructure. You'll work on greenfield projects and system improvements using Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL in a collaborative environment focused on clean code and continuous delivery.

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable REST APIs and microservices
• Build and improve critical systems including card payments, treasury management, and transaction booking
• Implement clean code practices with emphasis on maintainability and test-driven development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex backend solutions
• Contribute to both new greenfield development and enhancement of existing systems
• Participate in continuous integration and delivery processes
