Software Engineer - Backend

About this role

Join Artemis as a Backend Software Engineer to build high-performance APIs powering a Bloomberg-like terminal for crypto and digital finance. You'll scale infrastructure for 50k+ users, develop innovative data products, and work directly with institutional clients and crypto protocols in a fast-paced NYC environment.

What you'll do

• Design and build scalable, high-performance APIs supporting multiple product lines and institutional clients
• Scale backend infrastructure to support user growth from 50k to 200k+ monthly active users
• Develop innovative crypto data products and help integrate them with onchain platforms
• Collaborate with customers and crypto protocol partners to gather feedback and shape product direction
• Own technical projects from concept through production deployment
• Help build and shape team culture while mentoring other engineers

• Backend development (Python/FastAPI preferred)
• API design and optimization
• Database management (PostgreSQL, DuckDB)
• Scalable systems architecture
• Onchain data or blockchain development (plus, not required)
