Agent Software Engineer

About this role

Join Assort Health as an Agent Software Engineer to build AI-powered healthcare solutions that create continuous patient conversations across care journeys. You'll work alongside founders in a rapidly scaling startup (15→250 people in 2026) developing voice AI agents and healthcare products, with hands-on involvement in key technical decisions and product development from zero to one.

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable, production-grade software features using generative AI and voice/transcription technologies
• Collaborate with engineering team and healthcare professionals to build solutions addressing real-world clinical needs
• Participate in architectural decisions and design discussions, contributing ideas for complex problem-solving
• Build HIPAA-compliant and secure healthcare software systems
• Wear multiple hats across design, development, testing, and iteration in an agile environment
• Engage directly with founders on key technical and product decisions

What they're looking for

• Software engineering fundamentals and production system design
• Generative AI and/or voice/transcription technology experience
• Scalable application architecture
• HIPAA and healthcare security compliance knowledge
• Rapid prototyping and agile development
• Full-stack capability across design, development, and testing
• Problem-solving in ambiguous situations
• Healthcare domain understanding (preferred)
