Product Applications Engineer (NCG 2026)

About this role

Astera Labs seeks a Firmware Product Applications Engineer to bridge firmware development and customer technical support for Leo CXL Smart Memory Controllers. You'll manage firmware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting across hyperscale platforms while collaborating with internal teams to enhance products and create customer-facing documentation.

What you'll do

• Support customer engagements for Leo CXL Smart Memory Controllers including platform bring-up and issue triage
• Develop, validate, and debug firmware in C and Python for PCIe/CXL and DDR memory subsystems
• Perform end-to-end firmware validation of DDR4/DDR5 interfaces including initialization, training, and RAS features
• Create and maintain Python-based test scripts, automation frameworks, and diagnostic tools
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver releases on schedule
• Generate technical documentation including application notes, design guides, and release notes
