About this role
Astranis seeks a Hardware Design Associate to develop and test software-defined radio hardware for satellites in a 12-week salaried role. You'll design, simulate, and integrate radio systems while working hands-on in the lab alongside experienced engineers on projects destined for orbit.
What you'll do
- Design, simulate, implement, and test internally developed software-defined radio hardware
- Perform hardware bring-up and debugging in the lab using professional test equipment
- Write code to evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware
- Integrate radio systems into spacecraft in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Work on projects with similar scope and difficulty to full-time engineer assignments
What they're looking for
- PCB design and hardware development (demonstrated through projects or competitions)
- Analog design (op amps, transistors, filters)
- Digital design (FPGAs, SOCs, SERDES, DDR, LVDS)
- Mixed-signal design (ADCs, DACs, power integrity)
- RF design (lineups, s-parameters, impedance matching)
- Programming (Python or similar languages)
- Lab equipment operation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
- PCB design software (Altium Designer preferred)
