About this role

Astranis is seeking an electrical engineering or mechatronics intern to join their harness design team for a 12-week internship. You'll design wiring and cable systems for satellites, create technical drawings, and work cross-functionally to integrate spacecraft subsystems.

What you'll do

  • Design flight and test harnessing for spacecraft systems
  • Create wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings
  • Route harnesses in 3D using CAD software
  • Select appropriate components based on voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate requirements
  • Define interfaces between subsystems with cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with production on in-house cable fabrication

  • Electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Power and data transmission concepts
  • CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Wiring diagram and schematic creation
  • Knowledge of connectors and cable types
  • Harness design software (Zuken a plus)
  • Problem-solving and technical communication
  • Attention to detail for aerospace applications
