About this role
Astranis seeks a mechanical engineering intern for a 12-week role contributing to advanced satellite design, assembly, and testing. You'll work hands-on with hardware development for spacecraft heading to orbit, gaining real experience on complex aerospace projects.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and test satellite hardware components and structures
- Design and evaluate composite and metallic parts, bracketry, and mechanisms using various manufacturing techniques
- Perform mechanical and thermal analysis on spacecraft systems
- Integrate parts and systems into spacecraft while documenting procedures
- Collaborate with engineering teams on hardware development in a fast-paced environment

- Mechanical or aerospace engineering fundamentals
- CAD software experience
- Hardware design and prototyping
- Stress or thermal analysis software
- Problem-solving and hands-on troubleshooting
- Electromechanical system design (bonus)
