About this role
Astranis is seeking a Thermal Associate Engineer for a 12-week salaried position to support the design, analysis, and testing of satellite thermal systems. You'll work on complex hardware projects including propulsion components, batteries, and electronics, with opportunities to contribute to satellites destined for orbit.
What you'll do
- Perform thermal analysis on satellite components including propulsion systems, batteries, electronics, RF components, and PCBs at varying levels of fidelity
- Design, evaluate, and test thermal solutions such as heaters, heat pipes, and thermal interface materials
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design trades balancing performance, resources, risk, cost, and schedule
- Develop integration and assembly procedures to ensure thermal design requirements are met
- Plan and execute thermal vacuum testing at component and spacecraft levels
- Support hardware design, build, and test activities in a fast-paced environment
