About this role

Astro Mechanica seeks an entry-level propulsion engineer to design and validate critical engine systems for supersonic aircraft, from prototype through flight qualification. You'll take ownership of hardware development while collaborating across disciplines to advance their proprietary Duality™ dual-use propulsion technology.

What you'll do

  • Conduct design trade studies while evaluating system-level impacts
  • Perform detailed design with structural, thermal, and fluid analyses
  • Build prototypes, design tooling, and establish manufacturing work instructions
  • Execute hardware testing and analyze data to verify performance requirements
  • Diagnose technical problems and determine corrective actions
  • Present design reviews and gather stakeholder feedback

  • CAD modeling (Siemens NX) - solid, surface, and sheet metal
  • Propulsion and fluidic/mechanical systems experience
  • Heat transfer and thermodynamics fundamentals
  • Manufacturing processes and GD&T knowledge
  • Data acquisition and instrumentation
  • Problem-solving from first principles
  • Attention to detail and quality focus
  • Adaptability in fast-paced environments
