About this role

Astro Mechanica seeks a GNC Engineer II in San Francisco to design and implement guidance, navigation, and control systems for a next-generation autonomous supersonic aircraft. You'll own the control architecture from first principles, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and support flight testing to validate real-world performance.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement guidance, navigation, and control systems for autonomous aircraft products
  • Build 6-DOF dynamics simulation models for analysis and validation
  • Create automation tooling for control design, Monte Carlo analysis, and simulation validation
  • Collaborate with propulsion, structures, and avionics teams on system architecture tradeoffs
  • Support flight and ground test operations
  • Conduct post-test reviews and correlate actual performance against predictions
