About this role
Astro Mechanica seeks a Software Engineer to build internal tools that support multidisciplinary aerospace design optimization. You'll develop Python-based engineering software for stress analysis, loads databases, and aeroelastic simulations that directly inform aircraft hardware development.
What you'll do
- Develop Python-based stress analysis tools including composite buckling, laminate theory, and failure analysis implementations
- Design and maintain a scalable loads database system for engineering teams
- Implement aeroelastic solution sequences and flight dynamics simulation tools
- Build reusable libraries enabling multidisciplinary design optimization workflows
- Collaborate with mechanical and aerospace engineers to translate analysis methods into production software
- Optimize performance and automation of internal engineering toolchains
