About this role

Astro Mechanica seeks a Software Engineer to build internal tools that support multidisciplinary aerospace design optimization. You'll develop Python-based engineering software for stress analysis, loads databases, and aeroelastic simulations that directly inform aircraft hardware development.

What you'll do

  • Develop Python-based stress analysis tools including composite buckling, laminate theory, and failure analysis implementations
  • Design and maintain a scalable loads database system for engineering teams
  • Implement aeroelastic solution sequences and flight dynamics simulation tools
  • Build reusable libraries enabling multidisciplinary design optimization workflows
  • Collaborate with mechanical and aerospace engineers to translate analysis methods into production software
  • Optimize performance and automation of internal engineering toolchains
