About this role

Join Astronomer's Customer Reliability Engineering team to become an Apache Airflow expert while providing technical support to enterprise customers. You'll solve complex data engineering challenges, troubleshoot mission-critical systems, and contribute to the open-source Airflow project while working remotely with a distributed team.

What you'll do

  • Provide expert Apache Airflow technical support to enterprise customers via ticketing system and video calls
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Airflow configuration, optimization, and production issues
  • Own customer experience by prioritizing issues, meeting SLAs, and guiding customers to production readiness
  • Spend up to 20% of time on side projects such as contributing to open-source Airflow or developing internal monitoring systems
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation including weekday pager duty and weekend coverage
  • Provide feedback to shape the direction of the Airflow project based on customer interactions
