Field Engineer, SWAT

About this role

Astronomer seeks a Field Engineer to deliver technical solutions for enterprise customers adopting the Astro DataOps platform built on Apache Airflow. You'll implement complex cloud-native data infrastructure, guide large organizations through their Airflow adoption, and serve as the technical bridge between customers, sales, and product teams.

What you'll do

• Implement Astronomer software and services at scale for enterprise customers
• Guide complex customers through Apache Airflow adoption journeys
• Act as technical interface between customers, sales, and product teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve distributed systems and Kubernetes issues
• Architect and deploy cloud-native data solutions
• Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

What they're looking for

• Kubernetes administration (GKE, EKS, AKS, or OpenShift)
• Programming language expertise (Python/Go preferred)
• Distributed systems setup and troubleshooting
• Cloud provider APIs and tooling (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Network architecture and design
• Command-line interface and terminal proficiency
• Git version control
• Strong customer communication and presentation skills
