Software Engineer, Astro Core Services

About this role

Astronomer seeks an early-career Software Engineer to develop core backend systems powering Astro's DataOps platform, including APIs, authentication, billing, and alerting. You'll build production-quality infrastructure supporting 800+ enterprises while learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative R&D environment.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain core platform architecture components with mentorship from senior engineers
• Collaborate across teams to implement customer-facing APIs and UI features
• Apply best practices for building reliable, scalable backend systems
• Contribute to platform reliability, performance, and usability improvements
• Work with frontend developers and product teams to deliver integrated features
• Participate in code reviews and debugging across the platform
