About this role

Axon is seeking an RF Test Engineer II in Scottsdale to design and execute comprehensive testing protocols for wireless-enabled public safety devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimal performance across cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS technologies. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug RF challenges, support field validations, and drive the certification process for innovative body-worn cameras and connected devices.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement RF test plans for wireless devices, verifying performance against product and regulatory requirements
  • Measure and analyze over-the-air metrics (TRP, TIS) using advanced test equipment in anechoic chambers
  • Conduct spectrum analysis and signal characterization for LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS technologies
  • Document test data, create technical reports, and present findings to cross-functional engineering teams
  • Support device certification activities including pre-certification testing and coordination with external test labs
  • Investigate and resolve RF performance issues such as sensitivity, transmit power, and signal interference

What they're looking for

  • RF testing and measurement with CMW500, CMX500, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Cellular wireless technologies (LTE, 5G) and multi-band Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/GNSS testing
  • RF circuit design principles and component characterization
  • Cellular certification standards (PTCRB, CTIA, GCF) and regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, ETSI)
  • Test plan development and technical documentation
  • Embedded systems troubleshooting and RF debug methodologies
