Axon
Mission Engineer - Pasco County
About this role
Axon seeks an embedded Mission Engineer to own customer outcomes at a strategic law enforcement agency, combining technical platform expertise with operational leadership to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions onsite. You'll work across Axon's ecosystem (AI Era, workflows, integrations, data tools) to transform agency operations, measuring success by real production impact and mission outcomes rather than activity or adoption metrics.
What you'll do
- Design and ship working AI agents, workflows, automations, and integrations on Axon's platform, tested with real users and agency data
- Conduct onsite discovery to translate agency operational problems into compliant, mission-driven buildable solutions
- Drive hands-on AI adoption and iterate in the field until solutions stick in production, documenting reusable patterns
- Lead operational assessments and transformation planning with agency leadership; define success metrics and measure impact before and after deployments
- Troubleshoot issues onsite and coordinate root-cause resolution across Axon Product, Engineering, Support, and Services teams
- Maintain consistent onsite presence (~3-4 days/week) and capture field intelligence to inform product roadmap and identify expansion opportunities
What they're looking for
- Platform building and configuration (Axon DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, integrations)
- AI/ML workflows, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent design
- Complex systems deployment and technical troubleshooting
- Operational assessment and process improvement
- Executive stakeholder management and QBR/strategic planning facilitation
- Data pipeline and automation design
- CJIS, evidence integrity, and privacy compliance
- Customer success metrics definition and measurement
